Why is our ice so clear? We proudly stand behind the quality of the ice we produce by way of an extensive purification and filtration process or ‘blow down’ that occurs at the end of every ice production cycle, removing any residual residue in the water supply.

Mike’s Ice has always been a close family business with family members playing a role in the company’s early development and expansion.  The company was founded in 1972 by businessman and air conditioning/refrigeration specialist Leslie “Topper” Brown and his son Michael Brown, a mechanical engineer.  Mike’s Ice was granted the first business licence to manufacture ice on the Island, manufacturing tube ice from their first ice plant on Walkers Road.
